Visa information
The Africa Marine Litter and Plastic Pollution Conference 2027 invites participants from across Africa and globally. We encourage the involvement of researchers, policymakers, government representatives, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), civil society organizations, youth leaders, community groups, representatives of the private sector, development partners, students, and media professionals engaged in addressing issues related to marine litter, plastic pollution, and sustainable ocean management.
All participants are required to complete the official conference registration prior to the specified deadline. Registration details, associated fees (if applicable), and pertinent dates will be made available on the conference website.
Invitation Letters
Official invitation letters will be issued to registered participants who require them for visa applications or institutional travel approvals. Invitation letters will be provided only after:
- Completion of conference registration.
- Confirmation of any applicable registration payment.
- Submission of the necessary personal information for visa documentation.
It should be noted that an invitation letter is intended solely to support a visa application and does not ensure that a visa will be granted.
Visa Requirements for Cameroon
Most international travelers to Cameroon are required to possess a valid visa prior to arrival. Cameroon has implemented an electronic visa (e-Visa) system, and eligible travelers are encouraged to apply through the official government portal.

Applicants should initiate the visa application process 6–8 weeks before their intended travel to allow sufficient processing time.
Requirements may vary by nationality and visa category; thus, participants are advised to consult the nearest Cameroonian Embassy or High Commission, as well as the official e-Visa portal, prior to submitting an application.
Visa Support
The Conference Secretariat will provide registered participants with:
- Official invitation letters.
- Confirmation of conference registration.
- Hotel booking confirmations (upon request, where applicable).
- Information on recommended accommodations.
- General guidance to facilitate the visa application process.
The Conference Secretariat cannot influence or guarantee visa decisions, as all visas are issued exclusively by the Government of the Republic of Cameroon. Participants are responsible for ensuring they fulfill all immigration and entry requirements prior to travel.

The principal international entry points into Cameroon are:

Participants are advised to utilize Yaoundé Nsimalen International Airport, as it is in closer proximity to the conference venue. Participants should arrange their travel only after securing the appropriate visa and confirming their conference registration.
