About the Conference
A Critical Forum for Africa's Coastal Future
Marine plastic pollution has emerged as one of the most pressing environmental challenges globally, affecting ecosystems, economies, and human health. African coastal states, particularly those bordering the Gulf of Guinea, are increasingly confronted with the consequences of marine debris.
The Africa Marine Litter and Plastic Pollution Conference (AMLPPC01) serves as a critical intervention designed to bridge the misalignment between escalating coastal pollution, persistent data deficiencies, and the operationalization of the Abidjan Convention.
